Are you confused with the terms: VISA, E-VISA, and ETA?

Travelers often get confused with Visa, E-Visa and ETA. Most travelers when they see E-Visa find it difficult to rely on, and that applying for an E-Visa might lead to some error and delay in getting permissions.

You might think, E-Visa and ETA are similar, but they are actually not. So when you want to visit New Zealand, you have two visa options to apply: E-Visa and ETA.

What is an ETA?

The ETA is not a visa, but it fulfills all the travel purpose of a visa, it allows you to stay in the country for 3 months that is up to 90 days.

If you want to apply for ETA, it is easy, you need to simply visit the NZeTA website and fill the form online, once done pay the fees and wait for approval. For NZeTA approval you have to wait for around 3 days, which is around 72 hours.

What about E-visa?

The E-Visa is more complicated than ETA. The E-Visa has rules like the ETA, but it is quite different, you have to apply on the country's own official site, it is a government document and takes more time. Also, once you have submitted your application, you cannot make any changes, so make sure to check everything before you click the submit button.

What about traditional visas?

The traditional visas need a lot of paperwork and you need to physically visit the embassy with all your documents to verify. Even if you apply for the speedy traditional visa option, it still takes time.

Every visa has its own time limit. Remember ETA has many restrictions like you cannot travel for medical treatment, which is not present in traditional visas.
